- Roses last the longest when kept in cool temperatures. It is suggested to keep them away from direct sunlight and any place where they would feel a draft. After following the initial flower care procedure, the vase of roses should be maintained in clean water and always have flower preservative. If a rose should wilt, it should be recut and laid into a bath tub of water for 1 to 2 hours to re-hydrate. Be sure to keep the head and stem straight.
